Boston Latin and English High School first compete in football.

Latin beats English 16-0 the game played on Boston Common in what becomes the oldest continuous high school football rivalry in the U.S. until interrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 The games are played at Harvard Stadium beginning in 1903, at Boston University Field beginning in 1971, then at Harvard Stadium beginning in 2002, and occasionally at Fenway Park. Latin currently leads in the series 85-40-13.
